Ethel Watkins’ Best

A large early tomato that did very well in our 2012 trials, and is still popular, with good sized fruit on short plants. 

The key thing about this one is that the vines are not very tall – about 4ft – so great for the edge of the polytunnel or in a small greenhouse. And it fruits really quite early, making generously-set trusses of large round red tomatoes (tennis-ball sized).
